Bonnie Schriner
is an experienced trial attorney, who now limits
her practice to mediation, arbitration, case
facilitation, and collaborative law for domestic
relations, civil, and commercial disputes. She
has served as Special Master, arbitrator,
mediator, special advocate, and discovery master
in all of the metropolitan counties.
Bonnie graduated from
Creighton University (BSW) and was a social
worker and crisis counselor before attending law
school at the University of Nebraska. She
graduated from the University of Colorado in
1973, and was a trial deputy in the Denver
office of the Colorado State Public Defender.
She became the first female head of their
juvenile division.
Bonnie co-authored Formal
Ethics Opinion 67 (Colorado), permitting
contingent fee collection of liquidated child
support arrearages. She is a respected lecturer
on collaborative law, enforceability of
agreements, mediation, and alternative dispute
resolution.
She has successfully handled,
and consulted on, many complex civil, criminal,
and domestic relations matters. She believes in
creativity and resourcefulness, as well as
having a good handle on the law.
Bonnie is Past Chair of the
Executive Council of the Family Law Section of
the Colorado Bar Association, and is past
co-editor of the Family Law Newsletter in the
Colorado Lawyer. She is a member of the American
Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association,
Colorado Women's Bar Association, Minoru Yasui
Inn of Court, and serves on the Boards of
Directors of the Catholic Lawyers Guild of
Colorado and the Colorado Collaborative Law
Professionals.
Bonnie and her dog, Delta, are
a disaster search canine team and proud members
of Colorado Task Force One/Urban Search and
Rescue with FEMA and the Department of Homeland
