Jonathan Stein attended Touro Law School where he received a merit scholarship and served as Research Editor of the Law Review. His scholastic performance was rewarded with accolades in both Torts and legal writing. Jonathan completed a judicial externship with the Hon. Arthur D. Spatt of the E.D.N.Y. prior to graduating magna cum laude in 2000. After graduation he worked on complex multimillion dollar cases as an associate in the commercial litigation practice group of Cullen & Dykman, LLP, one of the oldest law firms in New York.
Jonathan eventually moved to Nashville, Tennessee where he opened his own law practice and shifted focus from civil litigation to domestic relations. He acquired experience dealing with high net worth issues including: business valuation, executive compensation, partnership interests, family trusts, stock portfolios, and extensive residential/commercial real property holdings. Jonathan also became an advocate of Alternative Dispute Resolution techniques while in Nashville. He received extensive training and certification as a General Civil and Family Mediator under Rule 31 of the Tennessee Supreme Court, as well as instruction in collaborative divorce practice. He was formerly a member of the Middle Tennessee Collaborative Alliance where he assisted clients dissolve their marriages in an amicable and equitable manner. Jonathan has presented several Continuing Legal Education lectures on mediating disputes with high conflict personalities, and served as the Chair of the Nashville Bar Association’s ADR Committee for several years where he received the Bar Association’s Rising Star award.
Jonathan finally moved to Colorado and joined the Rocky Mountain Collaborative Law Professionals where he continues to assist clients resolve their domestic relations disputes amicably. Jonathan understands these cases often touch upon the most sacred and financially critical aspects of his clients’ lives. He also knows that each case is as unique as the parties themselves. Consequently, Jonathan works closely with his clients to craft durable agreements which address their personal needs while being mindful of the impact on family members.
